The European Cosplay Gathering is coming to HYPER JAPAN! This year, HYPER JAPAN will be hosting the UK preliminary - we will be sending one individual and one team to Paris to represent the United Kingdom at the 2012 ECG Final.
About the European Cosplay Gathering
ECG sets itself apart from other competitions by awarding performance and costume equally. With a concert-size stage and audience of 15,000, the final is the most spectacular in Europe!
About Japan ExpoThe ECG final takes place at Japan Expo, Europe's largest anime and Japanese culture event. Held annually in Paris, France, Japan Expo is reknowned for having some of the biggest J-culture guests outside Japan. Past guests have included CLAMP, Morning Musume and even Final Fantasy creator, Hironobu Sakaguchi! How to EnterThe ECG UK group selection will take place at HYPER JAPAN at 3.30pm on Saturday, 25th February 2012. The individual selection will take place at 1pm on Sunday, 26th February 2012.
Online entry opens on 6th January and closes on 12th February 2012. Places will be allocated first-come, first-serve.
FAQWho can enter? Anyone who is resident in the UK and will be aged 18 or over by May 30th, 2012. You must also have a valid passport. You may enter as an individual or as a team of up to three people Which type of costumes can be entered? Costumes may be based on any characters from animation, comics, video games, TV and film from any country. J-Music costumes are also allowed.
