Flowerie88 is characterised by a very original sense of aesthetics, rooted in the delicacy and attention to detail of Japanese beauty and style. Flowerie88 items blend unique techniques, solutions, materials and colours together to bring a little smile and sense of fun to the wearer. Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your brand and its identity. Who is it aimed at? I am the designer of Flowerie88 and I have trained in clothes making, textiles, leather work, jewellery and silversmithing which has given me the skills to work confidently in 3-dimensions. The Flowerie88 range includes jewellery and fashion accessories. The collections are unique, unusual and well harmonized with a subtle aesthetic, elegance and a delicacy, which will enhance the wearers look. Flowerie88 is sold through galleries, shops, exhibitions and commissions both overseas and in England. Collections consists of semi precious stones, fresh water pearls, silver, 18ct gold plated silver and rawhide leather. They are decorated with my usual Victorian/antique touch with an added twist. Flowerie88 accessories are unusual, unique and they stand out. There is something magical about Flowerie88's jewellery, it wont give you an over-stated look, so it appeals to wide, diverse audience from young girls to grown ups. What/who inspired you to start up your own brand? I have always loved making my own fashion accessories,wearing sweet jewellery makes me smile and feel happy! Due to popular demand for my work I launched my company in East London.
How long have you been established and what has been the response so far? Once I finished my Jewellery MA course I became an Artist in Residence in London Metropolitan University until 2007. After that I started my business. I have had great responses from all kinds of audiences since. What other parts of HYPER JAPAN 2012 Spring are you looking forward too? Being there and meeting visitors who are well dressed up!
What is your must have or spotlight item? I always wear Flowerie88's large blue topaz flower set cocktail ring!
