Ajay BasraAjay is a Londoner with keen interest in Japanese culture especially the literary works of Haruki Murakami. He specialises in Hipstamatic photography and his images have featured online and at exhibitions. He enjoys experimenting with both digital and analogue photography.
Ali MuskettAli is a London-based blogger and Japanophile, who lived in Japan for three years. Her blog, Haikugirl's Japan, covers all aspects of Japanese culture from ancient traditions to modern pop culture. She's particularly interested in festivals, food, and really big Buddha statues. Since returning to the UK, Ali has been looking for Japanese culture in the UK to photograph and write about. As well as writing Haikugirl's Japan, Ali writes freelance articles for other publications.
Dipika SoniDipika recently returned to London after spending 8 years in the beautiful Ishikawa Prefecture. She devoted her free time in Japan to learning about many different aspects of Japanese culture, from Tea Ceremony to Karate, and Enka singing to Japanese Punk, and is keen to share her passion for all things Nippon!
Emily ForrestBlogger and photographer based near Brighton. Emily has a passion for Japanese culture, and runs the blog 'My Kawaii Space' which celebrates the cute and colourful side of Japan. She loves to photograph people and places in a fun, vibrant and colourful way.
Katie CarterInfluenced greatly by Japanese culture, Katie studies Computer Games design and Japanese at University. Her blog "Stuck inside a Tamagotchi" is a mix of Japanese media, fashion, food and events, such as Visual Kei concerts. After returning from Tokyo, Katie wants to promote Japan as much as possible and get people to return to this beautiful country.
Kyra BownKyra, or ‘Blondedebates’, is a London lolita who has been organising lolita events since founding the Tea Party Club - the UK’s largest lolita meetup group - in 2007. Kyra is keen to bring as many lolita events to the UK scene as possible! For HYPER JAPAN she has hosted the tea party with Misako Aoki in 2010 and both the lolita fashion shows and bring and buy stall in 2011.
Maria DemetriouHaving previously spent two years teaching English in the southern reaches of Kyushu, Maria returned last year to snip, dig and plant her way along the Japanese archipelago through WWOOF Japan. Offered the delights of home made deliciousness along the way and having met many a wonderful host, Maria is keen to get more people to drink, taste and eat Japan.
Magnus AhlbergMagnus is a Swedish born freelance producer, cinematographer, editor and writer. Specializing in producing video content for the web, music videos, live recordings for bands, event shooting and documentary productions. Though based in London, he has lived in both Singapore and Japan. These years abroad have meant that Magnus has a close connection to Asia. Magnus want to continue producing content that promotes and teaches the values, ideas, and culture of Japan and Asia. He is always on the lookout for new collaborators.
Masafumi 'Gucci' YamaguchiMasafumi Gucci Yamaguchi is a Sound Designer and Motion Grapher based in London and Tokyo. He started working for a sound designer of TV, Film and Game industry since 2004~. He moved to London in 2011 and extended not only sound but also video making, motion graphics works. He loves taking picture especially HDR style pictures
Michaela BakerMichaela is a Yorkshire based Lolita. Her first glimpse of Lolita fashion was at HYPER JAPAN 2010. Since then Michaela has submerged herself in Lolita fashion. Her style is mainly Sweet Lolita with a quirk. HYPER JAPAN 2012 Spring will be Michaela's 3rd HYPER JAPAN. Michaela’s blog, Sakura-Moments, focuses on Lolita Fashion, her real life experiences of the fashion and musings.
Pixie LatePixie_late is a London based Lolita. In the past she had organised and curated Lolita fashion shows at various locations including The Barbican. She was on a panel with Misako Aoki and KERA's executive director at HJ2010 and organised a tea party with Kanon Wakeshima in 2011! Saoirse ClohessyA photographer studying in West London, Saoirse?is hugely influenced for alternative fashion, particularly Japanese street trends.Her style is vibrant and quirky, and she often collaborates with others to product bright and fun photos.
Steffi SantiagoA photographer, graphic designer, and little wanderer. Steffi is highly inspired by Japanese culture - anime, manga, J-rock, the kawaii and cool Japanese street styles, etc. She always excited to be Hyper Street Snapper. Her blog 'Kei & Ink' features street style, art, and culture with an Asian twist. |
