For more information on Kimono De Go, and to learn a little about the history of kimono, click here. Kimono De FabulousThe stunning colours and intricate embroidery of traditional Japanese kimono are what make this traditional garment one of the most widely admired in the world. Producing kimono is no simple task – many people and processes are involved, much of the work is done by (very skilled) human hand and this makes the kimono a very expensive item. And that’s not even including the obi, the sash worn with the kimono which can be even more intricate and colourful than the kimono itself.
The Kimono De Go stall at HYPER JAPAN will give people who have dreamed of trying on a kimono but never had the chance an opportunity to wear Japan's most famous traditional dress. Kimono De Go staff will dress you and take commemorative photographs of you the sumptuous silk kimono to treasure forever. Kimono De Go have recently launched an English language website where you can purchase accessories and items online. They also have a wide selection of kimono, which can be rented out for special occasions. Kimono De Go will also be selling a range of beautiful accessories, including bags, purses and wallets, all made in Kyoto using Japanese fabrics, and otherwise on sale in leading Japanese department stores. Items are hand crafted by artisan Kyoto designers. The denim items shown are made with vintage denim from Okayama Prefecture, and gold leaf is used to create bold yet intricate designs inspired by motifs from traditional Japanese art.
