KIMONO DE JACK
Kimono De Jack
In March 2010 the first Kimono De Jack was organised using twitter and 40 people attended, see here for photos! Since then, Kimono De Jack events have occurred in Fukuoka, Aichi, Gunma, Saitama, Kyoto, Tokyo and Sapporo.
There are many kimono lovers outside Japan, and those of us in the UK have been watching these events with envy, so in October 2010 we decided to hold a Kimono de Jack event in the UK. Our first event happened at Trafalgar Square in London and was highly enjoyable. Since then we have been doing our best to organise an event every month around the UK. Our next meeting is 23 July at HYPER JAPAN, so come along, dress up if you can, meetup with other kimono lovers and have fun! It is an informal meeting, there are no rules, all you need to bring along is your curiosity and enthusiasm. We have a Facebook page where you can follow our kimono adventures and we've set up a Facebook event for July's meeting, if you would like to register your interest in attending. Click here to read more about the enduring appeal of kimono. Kimono De Jack Kimono Fashion Show at HYPER JAPANAs a treat, two members of the Kimono De Jack group (Elizabeth Hitchins and Isla Wong) will be organising a fashion show showing kimono outfits from traditional to modern. The "Kimono De Jack" event was started by 11 kimono lovers from Japan who found that there were not enough occasions to wear kimonos. So they thought, why don't we create events to wear kimonos?
