Chris Eaton: Hi Wa Mata Noboru

An Anglo-Japanese musical gift of support to the people of Japan who have been affected by the Tohoku Pacific Earthquake and subsequent tsunami.

A collaboration between hit songwriter Chris Eaton and London-based Japanese businessman Tetsuro Hama (owner of SO Restaurant), Hi Wa Mata Noboru translates as “The Sun Will Rise Again”, and has been created to inspire support for post-natural-disaster Japan. Vocals are by Abby Scott and the video was directed by David Butler.
Hi Wa Mata Noboru will be performed live at HYPER JAPAN: more details to be announced as soon as they are available.

Chris Eaton

Chris Eaton is a renowned and award-winning singer and songwriter. He began playing piano at the age of 3 and has been composing since he was fourteen. His unique brand of ‘white soul’ song writing has made him a favourite of the world’s pop aristocracy. Notable mainstream artists to cover his songs include Amy Grant with “Breath of Heaven”, Janet Jackson with “Hold Back The Tears”, and Sheena Easton with “All I Ask” and “Dance Away The Blues”. Chris is also a pioneer of contemporary christian music.

Abby Scott

Young talented 25 year old singer and songwriter, whose debut album, “Have Your Cake...”, was released in 2010. “Have Your Cake...” is a quirky concoction of vivid pop and smoky jazz, like Marilyn Monroe meets Miss Perry. Her songs will grasp your heart and into her world. Her album was co-written and produced by Chris Eaton. Abby’s incredibly clear, beautiful voice is the perfect choice for this inspirational song.

Hi Wa Mata Noboru: Lyrics

Tears of the sun
Crying oceans for everyone
Flowers in the rain
Beaten, broken will rise again

Mother nature has her way
We are with you we will pray

Hi wa mata noboru (The sun will rise again)
Hi wa mata noboru (The sun will rise again)
Makenaide (Don’t give up)
Nakanaide (Don’t cry)

Hi wa mata noboru (The sun will rise again)
Ashita wa kuru (Tomorrow will come)
Makenaide (Don’t give up)
Nakanaide (Don’t cry)
Kitto (Surely)

Soon dawn will come
The endless night surely will be over
No strangers
We will grow stronger together

Over mountains, sea and sky
Hear our song of hope tonight

Hi wa mata noboru (The sun will rise again)
Hi wa mata noboru (The sun will rise again)
Makenaide (Don’t give up)
Nakanaide (Don’t cry)

Hi wa mata noboru (The sun will rise again)
Ashita wa kuru (Tomorrow will come)
Makenaide (Don’t give up)
Nakanaide (Don’t cry)
Kitto (Surely)
