TOKYO presents: Giant Tuna Carving Show
Latest news

TOKYO is proud to present a  Giant Tuna Carving Show at HYPER JAPAN 2012 Christmas. TOKYO is a major cultural centre, and Japanese food is a huge part of this. The city has the most Michelin stared restaurants in the world, and also the world’s biggest fish market, Tsukiji-Shijo, situated in TOKYO bay.

At this show, TOKYO will show on the stage how a whole giant tuna, about four feet long and 1 foot thick, is carved and shaped into pieces for sashimi or sushi, an activity which can be seen daily at Tsukiji market.

The chef, Matsuya of So Restaurant, an award-winning Japanese eatery in London, will be showing off his impressive knife skills, carving the tuna in the traditional Japanese way. You will also have a chance to try free samples of freshly-sliced tuna sashimi and sake or Japanese rice wine from TOKYO (subject to availability)!

During the demonstration, there will be a slide show introducing TOKYO’s best sight-seeing spots, including Tsukiji market and the newly-opened TOKYO SKYTREE,  the world’s tallest tower.

Please come and enjoy this feast for all the senses!

*Only sustainable tuna will be used in this show
