The UK’s biggest celebration of Japanese culture is also offers a festival of cuisine from Japan! Japanese food and drink outlets will be lined in the Eat-Japan 2013 area at HYPER JAPAN 2013, ready and waiting to serve up a host of tasty foods, and give expert guidance and all the inspiration you need for parties, family meals, and extra special dinners with a Japanese twist.
For over a decade, Eat-Japan has been at the forefront of the phenomenal rise in popularity of Japanese cuisine, working dedicatedly to show the UK just how delicious and versatile Japanese food can be. As well as gourmet flavours, Eat-Japan introduces Japanese street food, snacks, and everyday home cooking to UK audiences.
Sushi Awards 2013
The Eat-Japan Sushi Awards, which aim to promote the excellence of Japanese cuisine and food and drink products to people in the UK and beyond, are back for 2013! Sushi is now part of our everyday vocabulary and our everyday diet, and the Sushi Awards are here to celebrate everything that's great about it. Five Japanese restaurants in the UK will battle it out at HYPER JAPAN 2013 to win Sushi of the Year. And who decides the ultimate winner? You do – everyone who tastes gets their chance to have a say, so it could be your vote that decides the 2013 Sushi of the Year. On top of that, this is your chance to taste five unique sushi creations from some of the leading sushi chefs in the country!
Sake Experience 2013
In recent years, sake has become increasingly popular in the UK. However, for all the British people with an interest in sake, there are probably many more who don’t fully understand it, which is why we launched the Sake Experience. Returning for 2013, at the Sake Experience 2013, you'll be able to taste many diverse varieties of drinks, learning about the different temperatures and ways in which sake can be enjoyed. Visitors can also meet sake brewers, attend mini-seminars from a sake sommelier, and participate in polls and prize draws. Many sakes on offer for sampling can also be purchased by attendees at the event.
Eat-Japan Food Court
HYPER JAPAN will be once again hosting a variety of stalls selling Japanese food, hot and cold alcoholic and soft drinks, teas, candy, ingredients, snacks, sweet treats, and more. From tempting street food like okonomiyaki and ramen noodles, as well as super healthy blends of green tea, to exquisite sushi, premium sake, and traditional liqueurs from Japan, there will be offerings to satisfy any taste. In addition to freshly made food, visitors will be able to take home candies, cakes, and snacks, as well as Japanese ingredients and cooking supplies.
Eat-Japan will be hosting three days of demonstrations on cooking and drink from Japanese food and drink experts on the main stage. Whether you are a dedicated cook or a keen amateur, or just interested to learn more about Japanese ingredients, be inspired to create dazzling Japanese culinary concoctions, and learn to impress with your superior sake knowledge.
